Privacy Policy

CaptainsBet is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect, why, how we use and protect it, and what rights you have. It applies to our website, app and services, and takes into account the principles of Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843).

The platform is operated by Optim Development B.V. (registration number 154511, Curaçao), which acts as the data controller. Payment processing is handled by Amariner Limited (Cyprus), acting as a data processor for payment-related information.

1. Identity verification (KYC)

To verify your account, we may ask for a valid photo ID (such as your Ghana Card or passport), proof of address (a recent utility bill or bank statement) and confirmation of your payment method. Documents can be submitted through your account or by e-mail to support@captainsbet.org, from the address registered on your account.

2. Data we collect

We collect the information needed to register you and provide our services: your name, date of birth, identification document, contact details (e-mail and phone number), payment information, and your transaction and betting history.

3. How we use your data

We use your data to create and manage your account, process transactions, verify your identity, provide customer support, and meet our legal obligations. With your consent, we may send you information about our products and promotions; you can opt out at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

4. Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your data. We may disclose it only: where required by law; to enforce our Terms and Conditions; to protect our rights and security; and to processors who help us provide the service, such as payment processing and identity verification, while remaining responsible for how your data is used. Where the law requires it, we may report information to the relevant authorities.

5. Cookies

We use cookies to operate the site, remember your preferences, and analyse usage to improve our services. You can accept, decline or delete cookies in your browser settings; without essential cookies, some features may not work correctly.

6. Your rights

You have the right to: know what data we hold about you; access your transaction and betting history once logged in; correct or update your information; request deletion or restriction of processing; object to certain processing; and withdraw your consent. You may also lodge a complaint with Ghana’s Data Protection Commission (DPC). To exercise these rights, contact support@captainsbet.org.

7. Data security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against accidental loss and against unauthorised access, use or disclosure. The internet is an open system, however, and we cannot guarantee that data transmitted online will always be fully secure.

8. International transfers

Your data may be processed outside Ghana — for example, by the operating company in Curaçao or the payment agent in Cyprus. In such cases, we take appropriate steps to keep your data protected.

9. Data retention

We keep your data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy and to meet our legal obligations. After that, data is deleted or anonymised securely.

10. Protection of minors (18+)

Our services are restricted to individuals aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors, and any data submitted by a minor will be removed from our systems. See our Responsible Gaming page for more.

11. Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time; the current version is published on our website, and continued use of our services means you accept the changes. This policy should be read together with our Terms and Conditions. For questions about your data, contact support@captainsbet.org or visit our Contact Us page.
